This summer saw the launch of the “Murphy’s when it rains it pours” app. With the typical Irish weather we knew we would get, we were involved in the development of a new App for Murphy’s called “When it rains, it pours”. The idea behind the app is simple; once it rains in Cork, anyone who downloads the app has the opportunity to redeem a free pint of Murphy’s in their local. The recipient has three days to redeem the pint, otherwise they will have to wait for it to rain again, and let’s face it, they wouldn’t have long to wait! Once the App had been downloaded the user will be notified if it is raining in Cork via Met Eireann through push notification. The App also provides a map of all the participating outlets in Cork, a tab with upcoming events, details of all the terms and conditions along with the Viral video used to promote the “When it rains, it pours” App. The app is being promoted with sales support in the form of POS (tent cards, posters, window stickers etc). The App is currently available for download for Android and iPhone and the campaign is live.
